Message to Customers

It is with huge sadness that I write to tell you that the Porcelain Pig will be closing at the end of August. Against all the odds and despite all the obstacles small businesses face, our lovely pottery studio has been a mainstay of Twyford’s High Street for over 15 years - first as HaaHoos and now as The Porcelain Pig. 

However, the time has come for me to retire from this business and to sell the studio premises.

With the support of all the current and previous staff we have brought a vibrant and popular creative space to Twyford – encouraging you the customer to make time for yourself or to connect with friends and family over a cup of tea (or a G&T!) and make your own special piece of artwork. 

We have loved being part of the community, and we know how much we will be missed by people both in the village and beyond. Taking your babies’ handprints, hosting your children’s birthday parties, throwing fabulous Hen-dos etc have all been such a privilege. We have built a large and loyal customer base who I am so disappointed to let down now. 

There are some ideas about how the pottery experiences can continue to you as a mobile service but as yet these plans are not fully formed, so in the meantime, I am keen to talk to anyone who might be interested in buying the studio premises. 

Meanwhile we will be open as usual with slightly amended opening hours over July and August and we plan to bring you some additional summer special events.

Our last painting day will be Sunday 30th August with all collections to be made by Saturday 5th September.  If you have booked for September, we will be in touch separately to discuss how we hope to honour your booking.
